I'm glad she's in the newspapers again. I was worried about her. She was doing really well being this raunchy and oddball singer and then Lady GaGa came along and kind of did the same thing just better and blonder and she got all the attention.

Keep it real, Perry fans. She's back.

It seems we may be heading into a second phase of this recession. They say the rate of inflation could go up and yet the rate of pay increase will not make up for it. This double-dip has been predicted and it might not be pretty.

It has the effect of prolonging the period of financial uncertainty we are going through. One thing that tends to happen during a recession is that investors move away from products like property and stocks as a place to invest their funds, and they move towards precious metals.

You could invest in silver, which is available as a coin or in the form of an ingot. Demand for silver out strips production, so the price has seen increases.

Gold is also a success story during times of economic instability. Once again, you get it as a coin, as an ingot or as bullion. It means you have a physical item that is your investment. That is far more certain than some shares in a company that could go under.

She has something of an animal theme in her career. She's a bit like a horse whisperer and she was in the Garfield. They say never work with children or animals. Well, sometimes they just say it, other times the court enforces it if you are Gary Glitter.

The Garfield films are one of the few things I have ever seen in the cinema and slept through. I liked the idea of the films but they weren't as much fun when you actually try to want them. The first one was billed as "lots of fun with the big fat hairy pussy..." well, it wasn't what I expected.

Rachel Weisz

Do you think that is really what happened? Or did someone walk in on her doing the act and she came up with the excuse? "Er, I was just researching for the scene I have to film where... er, my character... er, has a fiddle. Yep, that's what I was doing."



I hope she doesn't suggest it for all her films. There was no need for one in The Mummy or The Mummy Returns. And I really hope she didn't suggest it in About A Boy. That's just wrong.



Still, it's nice to know I have some acting skills.

The Old Ways

Some times it is nice to do things the old ways. Making a cup of tea using a kettle on a stove. Buying something hand-made rather than knocked out from a factory. This is a fact that is also true when it comes to investments.

You can buy gold coins with the United States Gold Bureau as an investment. Obviously, it's not just gold, of course, there are other precious metals to invest in, but gold is the one with the most history. You buy the metal and can have it delivered if you have the secure storage or have it kept in an independent bank or depository. Then your money is invested in a solid, physical asset.

Buying gold has been the way to invest for centuries, if not longer. It worked back then and it is working now. In part, it is because of the recession. During times of economic failure investors get scared about putting their wealth into companies that could collapse if the companies they do business with collapse. One large business failure can have a knock on effect. But a bar of gold will always be a bar of gold, and that level of stability is what attracts the nervous investors.

Sadly it all came to an end. Jordan married Peter Andre and then split from him and now she is with a cage fighter who wears dresses. Ironically, I think that's how she described Jodie Marsh once.
